First Date Movies

Even though going to see a movie is priced out of the ball park for most people, this is still a highly popular date, especially for a first date. Since most first dates are between two people that don?t know each other all that well, a theater is typically the only acceptable venue to watch the movie. This means that the guy is going to need to ante up the money for the price of admission. However, that?s not the only thing that needs to be considered.
A first date movie is something that needs to be carefully chosen. Obviously, you don?t want to be attending a highly sexual movie on the very first date. These don?t have to be rated X to qualify, either. There are some movies these days that are definitely hard R rated that may provide some embarrassment for two people that don?t know each other that well to witness. So you?ll want to do your research as to what various movies are about before deciding on whether or not it?s the best one for your first date.
Another way to get around this is to have the girl choose the movie, or several, that she finds interesting so that the two of you can select the movie together. As there may be some very different tastes between two people when it comes to movies, you may want to talk about the preferences. For instance, you may be addicted to action movies and she enjoys romantic comedies. However, it may also be that both of you really like a good scary movie. That would probably be the best option to choose since both of you are likely to enjoy it.
You may want to stay away from some of the more graphic horror movies, though. That would be a good way to make sure that both of you leave the theater with a good feeling rather than a feeling that might make one or both of you need to take anti-nausea medication. A good thought provoking drama can be a great choice because it can offer something to talk about once the movie is over. Therefore, if you decide to go have a cup of coffee or a drink following the movie, you can debate various points of the movie as to whether or not you agree or disagree on them.
Seeing a movie on a first date can be the perfect way to connect. It can also be the best way to see that you have nothing in common with each other. Having differences in your movie preferences is fine, but it won?t work if you?re into fighter movies and she?s into foreign films, and neither of you will ever be interested in the other; you probably don?t want to see any movies together. You may not want to see EACH OTHER again, either. So you may consider it a test of sorts in going to the movies on a first date. It can answer a lot of questions without even having to ask them.
